Earn your success based on your service to others not on the expense of others. However, there are people who are in the habit of bringing others down so that they can go up the ladder of success. We need to ignore this type people. They are agents of negativity.

Success comes with challenges. But one of the most important abilities of an effective and efficient person is the ability to frame problems as challenges rather than doing nothing. Additionally, the ability to recognize a problem before it becomes an emergency is also a good trait of becoming successful. People who let events and circumstances dictate their lives are living reactively. In other words, they don’t act on life, they only react to it.

The ultimate measure of a successful person is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of crisis and controversies. It in fact builds our character. If we stand strong when tested, we learn and grow from the process though it requires moral rather than athletic or intellectual effort, and it imposes of self-restraint.

We need to be strong but not rude; kind, but not weak; bold, but not bully; thoughtful, but not lazy; humble, but not timid; proud, but not arrogant; and have humor, but without folly. The greater a man is in power above others, the more he ought to excel them in virtue. None ought to govern who is not better than the governed.

To stand strong, we need to have a spine. By standing for something, we inspire others to do to the same. Effective people balance their conviction with connection, by staying in touch with the thoughts, feelings, concerns, and perspectives of others.

Any person who has the ability to successfully accomplish any undertaking must be willing to cut all sources of retreat. Only by doing so can one be sure of maintaining that state of mind known as a burning desire to succeed which is one of the essential elements of success. It is not always about compromise but of commitment and dedication built on credibility.

Most people wants to get ahead at the expense of others. They don’t care if they hurt other people in the process. They don’t realize that success is worth sacrificing and persevering for. That’s what makes life beautiful. The challenge of getting up the ladder through your own hard work and efforts.
